There’s a shortage of actors to work with filmmakers here in the North East of Scotland.
There’s a reasonable amount of drama groups in the region, but ask any filmmaker and he/she’ll tell you it seems there’s only a few actors out there. Or they just use friends an family. So I wonder whether actors would like to get involved. Would they like to have a go, maybe attend an audition when the next one comes around?
So, I’d like to ask:
How can we hook up actors and filmmakers?
One actor who joined IADF is Alec Westwood, who says he’s returned to Aberdeen and wants to get involved – how does he do that? Then there’s Kim Mik (is that her proper name?), an Aberdeen-based actress, who’s the female lead in Kris Rennie and Morgan Black’s zombie flick ‘The Dying Seconds‘. She’s just joined the IADF Facebook page. She’s started her own acting school/classes called Dream Catchers Acting Tuition, in Aberdeen. (I know there are lots of other actors out there on the IADF Facebook page – Liam Matheson, Scott Ironside.)
Maybe people like these can help draw in actors who would like to try their hand in front of the camera, rather than on stage in front of an audience.
So, I say let’s hear from the actors and actresses (can I say just ‘actors’ to mean both males and females?).
I’ll ping this short post out onto the web and see what comes back.
