Video development worker Simon Farmer relies on a magazine called Iris to help keep him abreast of the latest technology.
Iris is a quarterly glossy published by Creative Video Productions, a supplier of broadcast and professional video and audio equipment.
“If it wasn’t for a magazine like Iris I wouldn’t so easily know what’s happening, in terms of technology, because it’s all moving so quickly,” said Simon, of Station House Media Unit (SHMU) in Woodside, Aberdeen.
“The reviews keep me up to date, but at the back of the magazine there are tables setting out the latest cameras and their spec. These are excellent for working out which camera has the spec I want and checking the cost of all the alternatives.
“I’ve never seen a magazine which is purely for video equipment, until the Iris. It’s delivered to me for free, but it’s so useful that I would pay a subscription for it.”
(Ed. Note to Iris: I get it too – it’s ace. Please don’t charge for it… cough)
