Actor Liam Matheson is a nice guy. Not like Bennett Campbell, the evil property mogul he plays in North East hit movie, “Attack of the Herbals“.
In this interview he describes his experience as an actor: he started on the stage in school, but since then it’s been mostly in front of the camera.
He’s been friends with Attack’s director David Keith since school, and together the pair have made a number of short films.
His interest in filmmaking is that it should be fun: “Everyone’s trying to make a serious film, everyone’s trying to make a gritty, Godfather-style movie, and I’m purely in it for the fun and enjoyment of making a film that’s going to make people laugh.”
EDITOR’S NOTE: If you listened to filmmaker Richard Currie’s podcast two weeks ago, you’ll know there doesn’t exist a clear way to connect actors with filmmakers. Liam shares similar views.
