I Am Do Filmmaker attended the 2nd in the new Aberdeen Actors & Directors Networking Evenings last night.
The event is held on the first Monday of each month, downstairs in the bar at the Belmont Cinema in Belmont Street, Aberdeen.
It’s free to attend and the bar is open. What happens? Listen to the podcast and you’ll find out, but I’ll tell you here, too:
7.00pm: Arrive at the bar downstairs in the Belmont
7.30pm: Kim stands up and gets things rolling
7.33pm: Those who want to step up onto a low platform and describe what they’re planning on and what they need (whether the work is paid or voluntary etc)
8.00pm-ish: Kim draws the ‘pitches’ to a close
8.02pm: The informal networking begins. This involves approaching the people who you heard making a pitch and discussing if you could get involved
9.45pm-ish: Most people have left and the bar manager puts the lights out!
Listen to the podcast and make your mind up whether you could benefit. I had great fun, I met loads of interesting and friendly people, and made four little podcasts which I’ll publish this week…starting with this one.
Many thanks to Kim and Jamie for setting this up.
