Noble Brothers Productions has just released a trailer for its latest production, ‘Call of Babylon’, and you can see it below.
It’s been some time since we saw a hike in production value in NBP’s films – and they now all look the business.
I’ll have to find out from Graeme Noble, but it looks like they’re maybe using a DSLR, incorporating motion graphics in titles, being more experimental with text design and using colour grading to style the look and feel of their films.
Whatever’s going on, it’s working.
About the Call of Babylon production: Filming began at the in January, following auditions held last October and November. The lead role went to Aberdeen actor Christie Mitchell, who appeared alongside Christopher Lee in the 2005 remake of the movie ‘Greyfrairs Bobby’.

The crew has completed 10 from a total of 70 scenes, so far, and filming is scheduled to wrap in August. The film will be shot entirely in Aberdeen and the Shire.
In an email, Graeme told IADF, “We have a small, but very reliable crew for ‘Call of Babylon’: myself and brother in the roles of director, producer and cinematographers, and in addition to this, we have a very reliable and talented sound expert, Tom Hislop, who is always helping us out when filming.
“Sound is absolutely paramount and to have someone like him is gold. Lighting is also crucial and our chief lighting technician is one of our actors, Reuben McKay. We also have other crew members to help out with the lighting and sound: Hannah McKay, Rachel Summers and Aiysha Jebali – all part of our cast and crew team.”
Graeme and the Noble Brothers Productions team may well be able to lay claim to the title of Most Prolific Production House in the North East of Scotland. As well as filming ‘Call of Babylon,’ NBP is filming an additional feature length film called ‘Street Fight’, which will be completed in May and sent to the Action on Film International Film Festival in California.

Oh yes, in case you’re wondering, the film follows the story of a Christian family whose lives are torn apart by the disappearance of their youngest member. It turns out that the teenager has been taken captive by a cruel psychotic middle aged man.
