It seems appropriate that I interview Calan and Ross in a noisy bar. Their web series Tripod Abuse is an equally noisy experience, full of crude jokes, cliches and extraordinary characters.
Tripod Abuse is a 14-episode web series about a group of housemates and their pet videographer – a foreign teenage boy they call Tripod – who films their activities.
Poor Tripod is there to record it all.
Despite its anarchic nature, Calan and Ross say they spent three months writing the script. It was based on a story they came up with when they were dreaming of touring Europe as a rock band.
They drafted in friends to act and crew the production, they rented a flat specifically for the purpose and the owner of a pub allowed them to film lots of scenes on the premises.
Even if you’re not a 15-year-old boy (their fan base), you’ll find the series an entertaining watch. Only seven episodes have been published, but Ross is currently editing the final seven, and they should be released soon.
