One meets all sorts at the monthly Actors and Filmmakers networking event in Aberdeen.
Take property developer James Stewart, for instance. He made a 120 mile round trip from Aberlour to attend the May event at the Belmont cinema.
He had brought his screenplay in a blue folder, the coversheet of which had the words ‘The Peacemaker’ typed across it.
He was looking for actors and maybe some technical support for his first fictional film project – a revenge movie linking the American Wild West and modern day Scotland.
The story features two builders whose discovery of a mystery Peacemaker pistol, in a cottage they are renovating, awakens the long-dead spirit of a vengeful husband.
It sounds like a clever story.
James hopes to start production this summer. He’s found his locations: a local cottage and a quarry that resembles the American West.
He has some actors, but still requires:
* 20-year-old joiner called Sam
* 40-year-old builder called Andy and/or a camera operator, someone with production skills
Contact James by email if you would like to volunteer your help: email@example.com
James’ interest in acting began in school, but it didn’t really take off until he was hired as a clansman extra for a promo video. Then he was bitten by the bug.
He’s had lots of experience as an extra in promos, short and feature films, but now he’s taking the next step with his own screenplay.
Good luck, James!
